Happy New Year

A very belated new year to you all - I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year and that Santa was good to you all. We had a great time, just the four of us and Millie our Scottie dog of course, but it was so nice to just hibernate and eat and drink as much as we wanted ha ha.

My New Year resolutions are still a work in progress, chiefly to try and cut down on the choccie and go for more walks but the weather is so soggy and miserable that I am not achieving either at the moment but am waiting for the sun to appear so thinking about it if I want to get thinner I need to emigrate to New Zealand!!

If the credit crunch hasn't hit you too badly then do check out the Barefoot January sale as there are some great bargains to be found!!

Until next time

Autumn is here

I cannot believe that it has been so long since my last post - I do apologise!!!! Well we are well into September now and autumn is certainly here - I keep waiting for the Indian Summer that we must be due by now!!!

I have had a very busy summer season which kicked off in spectacular style with the Strathmore Highland Games at the glorious Glamis Castle (birthplace of our late Queen Mother), I then joined forces with two other stallholders to introduce Barefoot to the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh which was full of hard work and giggles!!! As you can see from the photo Lowther Horse Driving Trials in England turned into Glastonbury - I never knew mud could get into so many places ha ha.

We have got some fantastic books in for the winter season most particularly Arthur of Albion - this is the most stunning book all about King Arthur and his Round Table so do check out my website for pictures and more info on this and all the other fab new products in - keep an eye out for the Camel and Llama!!!

See you soon.

What a start to 2008, I am just listening to a lady on the radio from Scotland saying that there is no snow in Scotland!! Not sure where she is living as we have complete whiteout and blizzard here!! Christmas was great, we spent it in Switzerland with my sister and her family so despite my youngest coming down with chicken pox two days earlier we still managed to have a good time.

I hope you all had a good one and are looking forward to what 2008 brings to you and yours.

Do keep an eye on my website as we have our winter sale running now until February 10th and I will be featuring different books from it each week.

I am going off to find the sledge!!

Autumn has finally arrived in all its glorious technicolour and the temperature has dropped to go with it, ahh well! Life continues to be hectic in the run up to Christmas and my diary is getting fuller and fuller. If you want to find a stress free way of Christmas shopping then do check out my website and also this fab new website that I have discovered which is - the most gorgeous toys etc.

The new autumn range has arrived in at Barefoot but my favourite just has to be Portside Pirates and I will endeavour to feature it on this page so watch this space!!

It doesn't seem like five minutes since I last wrote on my blog but was horrified to realise that it was actually back in July so apologies to everyone. We have had an eventful summer (?) to say the least but now the short people and not so short people are back at school things are settling down!! He who thinks he should be obeyed has decided to retrain as an accountant and has just started back to university after 20+ years. I think he feels very old now. We have a new addition to the family, Millie, who is a little black scottie dog, photos to follow.

On the work side of life, I am getting geared up for the Christmas rush and am getting very excited about the new stock that is coming into the Barefoot warehouse. I will be featuring some of my favourites so watch this space.

Sanity Needed

Well we are well into the summer holidays up here in Scotland even if the weather doesn't agree and he who thinks he should be obeyed is going to get the fire going tonight. I am trying to arrange details for a big country fair that myself Emma and Lynne are doing down in Cumbria at the beginning of August as well as trying to potty train my 3 year old son!! Glutton for punishment methinks but any tips for this momentous challenge will be much appreciated as boys seem to be very different from girls!!!!

Hello and welcome to my blog, please bear with me as I am quite new to this but hope you find it interesting and entertaining!!! Please do explore all the links on my blog and I would love to get feedback about what you think of it!

See you soon
